From version 26.2 TradingDiary Pro has a built-in MCP (Model Context Protocol) server. AI assistants such as Claude Desktop and Claude Code can read the diary you have open and answer questions in plain English – calculated from your real trades, positions, cash transactions and equity, not from guesses. The server runs only on your own PC, is read-only and protected by a secret token.
“Which five underlyings made me the most money this year, and which lost the most?”
“Compare my win rate and average R multiple on long and short positions.”
“How much did I receive in dividends in 2025, and how much withholding tax was deducted?”
“Which open positions have the largest unrealized loss right now?”
“Summarize my worst month: what did I trade, and what went wrong?”
“What was my largest drawdown on the equity curve last year?”
127.0.0.1 (your own PC only). You copy its access token from Tools > Options > MCP server.mcp-remote, runs on Node.js) connects Claude to the local server. Claude Code and other MCP clients connect the same way.The full step-by-step setup with the configuration snippet is in the MCP server guide.

Claude reaches this data through 11 tools that all accept the same filters: accounts, date range, sort order and paging. The numbers come from the same calculations TradingDiary Pro uses in its own views, so Claude's answers match what you see in the application, and every amount carries its currency.
Be aware that the records returned for a question are sent to the AI provider as part of the conversation – just as if you had pasted them into the chat yourself. Only the records needed for that question are sent, never your database file. Your journal itself stays on your own PC.
Any MCP client that runs on the same PC as TradingDiary Pro, for example Claude Desktop and Claude Code. MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard, so other MCP-compatible AI tools and agents can connect the same way.
Not directly. ChatGPT connectors run in the cloud and cannot reach a server that listens only on your own PC. Use a local MCP client such as Claude Desktop or Claude Code.
No. The database file never leaves your PC. When you ask a question, Claude requests only the records it needs (for example the positions of one year), and those records become part of the conversation with the AI provider.
No. The MCP server is read-only: none of its tools can add, modify or delete anything in your diary.
The MCP server is built into TradingDiary Pro 26.2 and later and has no extra cost. TradingDiary Pro must be running with your diary open while you ask Claude questions.
